THE STYLIST’S SUITCASE: PARIS
My flea market finds form part of a constantly evolving library which is used to inform my design decisions at The Society Inc studio. Foraging through the streets of Paris is always a sure-fire way to pick up the perfect patina or vintage porcelain shape. My suitcase always returns brimming with exciting relics from the past which feel as though they might practically whisper their story to you.
In my travel pages for Belle Magazine I explore the old & also the exciting new design developments in the city of love. In my suitcase to Paris you will find:
James Smith & Sons Umbrella, with Whangee Cane Crook. It often rains in Paris so be prepared with an uber chic handmade umbrella.
The Society Inc Shield Candle, easily slips between clothes & makes your hotel room feel like home.
Buly 1803 Pomade Concrete Hand Cream, everything is made by hand from natural ingredients. The store & its concept is modelled on early 19th century celebrity perfumer Jean-Vincent Bully & is an artful interpretation of an archaic apothecary. Pop this in your carry on & dry skin is restored!
Hand Painted Oil Painting Bag, a leather handled carry bag is the perfect size for a day exploring Paris. It leaves a little spare room just incase you spot an overlocked-edge napkin at Caravane or a fine black terracotta ceramic vessel at Astier De Villatte which you decide must come home with you.
Heart Lock, grab your lover, find a bridge & adorn it with a love lock after walking the streets on starry Paris night.
