Call me old-fashioned, but I do love a bathtub. Perhaps you’re more a shower person, but even still, you can’t deny the sense of luxury a tub brings to a space. Make it a claw-foot and you’ve just taken it one step further. The bathtub evokes a sense of yesteryear, when hot water wasn’t readily available and the bath was perhaps not as frequent as our modern sensibilities would hope for. But today, the washroom is central to our modern rituals, and so the bath exists as a kind of sculptural offering to the clean bees within us all. I know that floor space is often limited, but I’m advocating for the addition of a bathtub, where possible, as you know I do love to draw in elements of history and interesting silhouettes… but more than that, sometimes, at the end of a long week, all you need is a long, hot bath.
