Zoographer
Combine my fascination with nature and my love of field guides, notebooks and small paper tags and the zoographer represents a dream job of the past for me. Tasked with studying animals and their habitats, the zoographer feels like a good fit if I were born in an earlier time. Even the first mention of this trade and I’m seeing the outfits, the instruments and the collection of evidence that makes this profession ideal for me. I feel like a pair of binoculars with leather details would always be on hand, along with a lead pencil on the smallish side, perhaps tucked behind the ear for when you spot a lemur on the run and must note down its markings and gait. And of course canvas would be the material of choice for much for the zoographer’s accoutrements, including campaign furniture. Yes, a perfect match for me!

Tune in next week for our new alphabet.
